What is Maralfalfa?

It is a unique cut grass of its kind with the highest amount of protein up to (19.10%), with a unique growth of 2 cm per night, which is impossible for any other type of plant, in addition to containing the essential nutrients that all animals should be ingested daily.

Who created the Maralfalfa and what is its origin?

The creator of Maralfalfa was Father Jesus Bernard Restrepo (Jesuitist) a native resident of Medellin Colombia.

How did Father Jesus Bernard Restrepo create the Maralfalfa?

After several trials, the father experimented with Gramineae such as Gramatara, Gramafante and Peruvian Alfalfa for human consumption, resulting in the latter as the perfect trial to create what we have today and known as Maralfalfa.

In what type of land can Maralfalfa be sown?

In all types of terrain after giving it the necessary conditions to sow it.

How should the land be prepared for planting?

It must be traced with a large harrow, from 16 to 24 discs, giving the terrain 4 cross passes and furrowing one thread 80 cm from the other. After this, place the cane horizontally with its head always towards where the sun’s rays come out and 1 inch below the ground level with 1/2 (half) inch of ground above.

After planting the Maralfalfa, what should I do?

Moisten the soil a minimum of 2 times a week if there is not much incidence of rain. Remember that the Maralfalfa requires humidity but not flooding, since once it reaches 1 meter in height, it contains 88.33% water. Which for lactating animals is essential because it increases their milk production.

At what height should the Maralfalfa be cut for its greatest benefit or benefit?

Between 1.5 and 2.5 meters, because that is when it has the greatest amount of nutrients.

How do animals respond to this grass?

Very good, since the grass is palatable & in turn contains 3.2% sugar, which makes it more delicious for the animals that ingest it.

What should I do if I have more Maralfalfa than animals to keep?

Cut it a maximum of 2 and a half meters, grind it and ensile it, either in covers or plastic bags that have a thickness that does not allow it to be perforated or air to enter it to avoid contamination.

At a height of up to 2,700 meters above sea level.

For international orders 21 days in advance & National 15 days in advance.

How would the animals for fattening or meat and the horses be supplied?

It must be cut 1 or 2 days in advance, since these animals require more dry matter due to their condition.

Which countries supply Maralfalfa?

Exclusively from the Dominican Republic.

Can I sell to other friends or acquaintances?

No, on your contract it says that our product should not be resold since it does not have mother plants (which is the only way it can be duplicated).

Can Maralfalfa be ensiled?

Of course, yes, and ensiled increases its amount of protein.

How long can it last ensiled?

Years, as long as it takes. The important thing is that you have a food bank for the Animals.

How and in what way will you receive our seeds or cuttings?

These are canes or cuttings that can measure from 1/2 meter (half a meter), in polystyrene containers with moistened paper and hermetically closed. These are identified with our logo and identification of our company, which gives you a guarantee that our seeds or cuttings will be 93% born.

How can I get Maralfalfa seeds or cuttings in my country?

How often do I have to replant the Maralfalfa?

1 time only, since it is perennial and if it is taken care of, it does not need to be sown again. Currently we have plantations from more than 22 years ago and they remain as the first day they were planted.

How to acquire it?

Only through us, with dispatches from the Dominican Republic.

How do I know how much I should pay?

Once you place the order and specify the amount of land you want to plant or animals you want to keep, we provide the cost, including transportation & payment of phytosanitary permits to arrive at the main airport in your country.

How do I pay for my order?

Through bank transfer to s Maralfalfa Progreso Limited.

Can I resow or double the seeds that grow on my farm?

The answer is no, but still people always do it. If you want to confirm the results yourself, do a test with a little bit.

Can MARALFALFA be used as Grazing grass?

No.
